The year was 2017

Ash had been fuccn round with guitar and I asked him "Hey lad, whats the story do you have any riffs?, Ive completely run out of ideas since last year, I keep playin the same shit over and over" He then sent a G drive filled with random guitar ideas that sounded vaguely like tuath so we started putting them together.



We put this delightful chord combo together and I came up with a bunch of synths when I was drunk, Aengus came in and started fuckin around on the minilogue, we were all high as shit, melody hook came natural. It was such a good time.

I asked myself "What is the most ridiculous euphamism possible that would just be so stupid nobody would ever take it even remotely seriously" when I came up with the opening line. Then we roped Jude from Lunch machine in to see if we could do a thoughtful , surreal "Cold outside" style duet. we nailed it. Its sincere in that we are a couple, but a joke because nobody talks like that.

We were like "Dude we gotta get that out for summer time" but we said that every year till 2020 when we released it.We released it in october like blithering idiots.
Its not a september number, its a summer number.

The worst ever PR company on planet earth "highvioletPR" approached us cause they saw our ad. I stupidly pulled the trigger. They charged us 1000 euros for the worst coverage on planet earth, They used our shitty Press release and didnt even make a bespoke one in their own tone, meaning they didnt actually have a tone,making them much more useless than I originally thought, they actually lied to us on the report at the end of their "campaign", something I had to find out from the producer of the BBC radio show themselves after an email conversation. At this point we realised "We better either take them to court or just forget about it" so we just forgot about it and moved on.

We were like "Dude we gotta re release that track" , we need to sort out the EP for summer release to give this track a lease of life so we wrote luxury apartments about 2 months before the release of the EP and the EP was finally complete.

We had planned this Ep as a host to all the anti cultural capitalist ideas that pervaded existence, songs that have been homeless since as far back as 2015. We always knew it was to be called "research and development" but Luxury apartments ties the whole thing together. It is the most post modern , up its own ass ep weve ever released.

Our good friend Stevie Did took our Press idea and actually wrote a good one instead of not doing one at all because marketing copy is the most important introduction a publication has to a band. He sent it to all the properly targeted publications and here you are,reading this and giving a fuck. Thanks Stevie.
