Left Hand Path

about

Left hand path is a response to the ambient catholic guilt that pervades Irish society. We are conditioned from the day we were born to fulfil these strange toxic roles in society that are passed down traumatically from generation to generation.

The commodification of human relationships is a strange beast in this writers opinion and it has been weaponised by the church to determine your worth as if a catholic version of the caste system reaching outside of the supposedly secular boundaries.

The bizzare version of masculinity that pervades us through a religious vein is poisonous to our wellbeing, everything in our current society and the way it functions has been mostly designed by men, men ultimately motivated to get laid but men nonetheless, thus we have shaped society toxically in our own image through might instead of right.

This song is an exploration of the strange mating habits we have as a people and the strange rituals around them. Anything deviating from the norm is deemed "The left hand path" by religious entities. We of the left hand path eschew the pressure to have kids and continue the cycle even though there are plenty of us to go around, the pressure to show off and act like the kings we once longed to be and to ultimately be humble in our meagre existence. We must accept that all statues decay in the wind.

The "Left hand path" is a rejection of all of these bizzare customs, customs which look like logic pretzels when compared to one another.

These pressures are utterly compounded in a world that is already pressuring us into buying houses for exorbitant costs on one hand and forcing its middle generation to pay for bank bailouts on the other. So when people ask you "When" he's going to "pop" the question or "When" ye are going to try for a kid, ask them "When" theyre gonna fuck off.

lyrics

Verse-

You've got some nerve, you shouldn't speak to her like that
She could run the world
If you dress like that it's fact

I'm gonna take her youth,
Fight everyday and reproduce,
And move to the place where the grass is always greener,
Everything will be alright there yeah

Chorus-

I wanna commit
To the same ole shit

Kill myself
When I come
To my senses

I want unruly teens
All the college fees but
not the keys to my own private
Domicile

Bridge-

So long as the neighbours dont
Think we're strange
No no
It don't matter at all

I'm in love

I'm in love

With all this
All this free fuckin time
